All prices are in Australian dollars. Software billed in US dollars is converted at US$1 = A$1.43 (0.701 US dollars per A$1, 23 Oct 2026), so what you pay moves with the exchange rate. Each stack total is the cheapest paid plan needed, billed monthly, before GST and card fees. Converted prices are estimates and may not be 100% accurate. Prices checked 23 Oct 2026.

How this stack works

Who it is for. An expert turning what they know into a paid course, with an audience of at least a few hundred people.

How the pieces fit

  1. 1Outline the lessons and record each one in a single take.
  2. 2Edit with Descript and add slides and covers from Canva Pro.
  3. 3Host the course and take payment on Teachable.
  4. 4Grow and email your audience with Kit.

What to buy first

Record and edit first, because the gear and Descript cost less than a platform you have nothing to put on. Add Teachable when the first module is ready.

Cheaper swaps

Sell a first cohort through Stripe payment links and a private page before paying for a course platform.

Australian notes

You must register for GST once turnover reaches A$75,000 a year. Overseas software invoices often include Australian GST, so keep them for your BAS. Teachable's Starter plan carries a 7.5% transaction fee, which counts toward your turnover. The Spam Act requires consent before you email marketing messages, so every list needs a clear opt-in.
