Our Software Verdict

Email list, landing pages and automated sequences for creators. The free plan is enough to start collecting subscribers and send broadcasts.

Who Kit is for

Kit is email marketing built around creators: people who sell a course, a newsletter, a template pack or a service and want to grow a list of their own. It suits you if you will send regular emails and want simple automations. It is less suited to online shops that need product-based email flows.

Free plan and pricing

The free plan on the maker's pricing page lets you send unlimited broadcasts, build unlimited landing pages and opt-in forms, and sell digital products and subscriptions. The page also states a subscriber cap for the free plan, and it changes, so read the figure there before you plan around it. The paid Creator plan is listed at US$33 a month, or US$390 billed yearly, for 1,000 subscribers, and the price rises as your list grows.

  • Start free to collect subscribers and send broadcasts.
  • Pay when your list passes the free cap or you need features that sit on the paid plans. Check which plan includes the automations you want before you build them.

Getting set up

  • Create an account and a landing page with a single promise, such as a free checklist.
  • Add an opt-in form to your site and connect it to a tag, so you know where each subscriber came from.
  • Write a three-email welcome sequence: a delivery email, a useful second email and a soft offer.
  • Send your first broadcast within a week, so the list stays warm.

Limits to know about

Paid plans cost more as your subscriber count grows, and you pay for every subscriber on the list. Clean out people who never open your emails before a price tier changes.

Alternatives

MailerLite and beehiiv are common alternatives with their own free tiers. Mailchimp is widely used but better for general marketing. If you want email and paid memberships in one tool, Ghost is the closer match.
